Hi, I'm Joe

My coding journey began with Myspace layouts, where code would be uploaded for others to use on their profiles. This was the first step on the path for knowledge in HTML, CSS, SASS and JavaScript. Keeping up with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, gsap and CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap and Bulma.

Helping clients and colleagues on a day to day basis provides great experience with front-end development. Creating new and interesting personal projects with frameworks that usually wouldn't be used helps when brainstorming in different scenarios. The aim now is to learn newer technologies such as React, Node, Express and MongoDB, as in the future my goal is to be a full fullstack developer.

I am experienced in visualising designs by creating wireframes and mockups through the use of Photoshop and XD before translating them in to code using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Weathered

Weather Application

Weathered is a weather app which fetches from two APIs for results. The first API finds the longitude and latitude of the city that is typed in to the search field. The longitude and latitude is used to request information from a second API which provides the weather description, icon name and temperature.

Keysound

Musical Javascript Project

With Keysound I wanted to create sounds that would play each time you hit the corresponding key. While it does still need some refinement I feel it shows my understanding of JavaScript. As it stands, this site is for desktop only. I plan to make it responsive and add touch functionality in the future.

RGBA

Colour picker website

RGBA is a website where you can slide to find a colour that you'd like to use within your code. It allows opacity and provides an RGBA value within the speech bubble. Once you find the colour you'd like you can click the speech bubble to copy the value to your clipboard.
